We finally made it out on the track for a practice session with   the first 2 were rained out .  The day started out around 32 degrees  and warmed to 48 by the end of the day.  We broke in the new HSR  engine. Got 5 runs in,the car was a little loose but with the temp and a green track we felt  the times were in the ballpark.  This year we'll be running Hoosier tires, should keep the rollovers to a minimum. We got the new drivers suit from ProFox racing this week as well. A great suit   with some room to grow .The season starts in 2 weeks  hope to see you in the stands
April 4th,

The car was great in practice but by the time qualifying rolled around the track had cooled and the car developed a push.  We timed in at 15.64  81 mph 5th fast .  In  the heat we started on the poll and finished 3rd.
The main was  20 laps and was on the poll again due to the invert. Held the lead for 3 laps until the 33 car of Brook Lefor took it over which brought the 4 and 93 along as well. A caution came out on lap 12 when the 93 spun the #4 driven by Mark Boles in turn 3 and I avoided the wreck taking back the 2nd spot. I was running the 33 car down when the checkered flag waved. Wish there was another 5 laps!!

April 18th.
In Practice, the car was tight off turn so a adjustment to the sway bar. while doing the adjustment we noticed the it was bent and close to breaking. After fixing and readjusting we had missed the final practice and went strait to qualifying. We were off the pace and still had a push in turn 4. Did some adjustments for the heat, but didn't help finished 3rd due to the 93 having electrical problems. after the heat we found the front right spring was on top of the spring seat! Taking away any adjustments we had made. Started on the pole again due to the invert. Took the green flag and led 2 laps pushed up the track in turn 4 and was freight trained by the field, by mid point in the race the car came in and I started to catch up. I was on the #4 driven by Mark Bowles cars rear bumper the rest of the race. Brook Lefor won the main her second this year. Our next race is May 9th See you at the track.

May 9th .
Was a better day at the track I finished 3rd in the heat and 4th in the main. the car is still getting lose in the last 5 laps.

May 24th.
Best racing yet at South sound speedway. Made a few adjustments to the cars cross weight and a little air pressure and the car came alive. qualified 3rd out of 7 cars. Made the trophy dash finishing 3rd. Tonight two heats were run due to the holiday weekend. In Heat 1 we started inside row 3 and worked through traffic into the second place and was to the door of the #4 car driven by Mark Boles. In the second heat i started on the outside3 and finished 3rd behind AJ Buttler and Brook Lefor..
.
.
Now The Main .
Started outside row 2 next to the #4 Mark Boles and behind #3 Dave Knittle and#16of Nik(The Dude) Larson and in 3 laps I just passed the #3 when a caution came out giving the #3 the spot back. On the restart i got into the 3 and he spun in turn 2 so we both went to the back of the longest line. With the one to go and the lights out on the pace car we're bunching up the field to take the green when #3 decides to throw in a brake check and I get into the back of dumbshits car(after the race he said " I was checking up form the cars in front of me") We got it all on video. Even though he's races 22 years I'm not going to take his crap so I hit him again. thats when the black flag came out sending me to the pits. for a 1 lap penalty, I still worked through traffic trying to get my lap back. with 3 to go the #3 lost an oil plug and didn't finish We finished 6th but did some of my best driving The finish of the main was #33 Lefor #39 Larew #24 Buttler #4 Boles #23 Millard #16 Larson and #3.

June 13th
We started off the practice with a bad coil and only 2 cylinders firing , after changing  both of them  after qualifying .  Michael qualified  3rd fast with 1 good lap before the coil quit.  We finished 3rd in the dash,4th in the heat race and 2nd in the main. The only damage to the car was  when Nick "the Dude" Larson spun to avoid Kayla Roberts in the #12  and backed up the tack as Michael went past hitting us in the drivers door.

In the Main event  Michael worked through traffic in to 3rd place and the top 3 drivers checked out led by the #4 driven by Mark Boles followed by #33 with Brook Lefor at the wheel. Michael Avoided 4 wrecks right in front of him with the last coming into turn 4 with the checkered flag out  passing Brook for second. this so far was Michaels best finish working his way through traffic. He said " I learned a lot from the last race when I got blacked flagged  and I  figured how much I could push the car.

June 27th The Gremlins are back!!!!! We arrived a little late to the track due to a pot delivery to Sport Co (Crab Pots) and missed open practice. with 1 round of controlled practice the car lost power with another coil pack going out. Borrowing a set of coils from the #39 Driven by Lash Larew one of the classiest drivers anyone would race with! There must have been a bad one in his or we toasted 1 in Qualifying but Michael posted 1 good lap of 15.50 and a second lap of 16.8 for fast time until #33 knocked us out with a 15.34 The race director let up tag the back of the trophy dash to check if the car would run. It ran great for 3 laps then lost power. We checked all connections and found a loose one. Fixing it in time to race the heat making the line-up with seconds to spare. The car was a rocket for seven laps, we needed 8 to finish falling from the second place to 6th in a lap. Nic Larson also had bad luck with a broken cam shaft ending his night. When Michael pulled in to the pits I unplugged a coil with the car running and nothing changed, I found which coil was bad but I didn't know which of the spares was good. 50-50 so I picked one and I got it right!! Now for the Main Event. We started inside row 3 with the #33 outside. Working through traffic I had a run on the #39 driven by Lash Larew and was told by the spotter" I'm in car high" I made contact with lash my front right tire hitting his left rear debeading his tire and ending his night. Sorry Lash. working into 2nd behind last weeks winner Mark Boles #4 I was running him down when he broke an oil line and was blacked flagged. he pulled off before causing any track damage. That left me out in front by 8 car lengths running to my first Victory. But the race isn't over until you stop at tech inspection. in the excitement of the win I passed tech getting DQ'ed so did the 2nd and 4th place cars. so the official winner of the race Was John King. I was pretty upset but there's next race. By the way the neat race is July 11th

July 11th Tonight was a little different than the normal race night. Tonight is double mains and double points. After the first round of practice the car had lost power again. This time Lash Larew suggested that we look at the fuel filter. with a quick check we found the filter ok but the fuel pump was shot. we never thought of checking that because it was changed at the end of last season you would expect it to last more than 6 races. Nick at Race car supply found a fuel pump that would work for the night but I broke off the inlet ( there went $60) so off to the local parts store in Tenino for another one and a filter. we got the body back on in time to qualify. Michael put down a nice lap that got us top 3. In the Mains Michael did an outstanding job driving missing a few wrecks right in front of him to finish 3rd in both mains.

December 19th 2010     First gokart race
Got Blacked flagged in the 2nd heat race because of rough driving during practice. It was more like the Flagger's daughter spun in 3 kart lengths in front of me  She figured that I  spun her.  I finished 7th in the main

I learned a lot racing karts this winter at Oakwood.   Finished 6th overall for the season  the best Finish was a second place

 April 10th 2010
Had to miss the last Kart race of the season Because the Baby Grand season starts today!!!!!
We got to the track early to practice and run a few heat cycles on the new Hoosier tires. The car was running good a little loose out of turn 4  but a fairly green track.
I was the 4th car to qualify and turned 2 good laps, with the fastest lap  15.40   that held as fast time until Lash Larew  went out, turning a 15.36

In the trophy dash it was Mark Boles on the pole outside was Rookie Mike Crawford
Michael  and Lash made up the second row.
I finished 2nd behind Mark Boles with Lash in 3rd.  Mike spun in turn 2 and took out his clutch and was done for the night.

The Heat race  I started outside row 2 with Brooke Lefor ahead of me . The 36d driven by Brad Crawford on the pole with Mark Boles and Lash Larew following.  With the green flag falling  Brooke and I passed the 36D but I hadn't cleared him  and spun myself and Brad in turn two. Not completing a lap it was a compleat restart.  I cleared him on the restart and passed Brooke a lap later.  7 more laps to Victory

 The Main event 20 laps,
I started inside row 2 . The start of the race I got under  Brooke  and Mark Boles going 3 wide out of turn two taking the lead. leading the race all 20 laps.  I thought  that could change when the caution flew on lap 18 when the 36d spun in turn 3. I was able to hold off Brooke for 2 more laps and took my first Offical win(I stopped at Tech)

May 5th
The car was super loose in practice and hard to drive all night timed in with a 15.85 Finished 3rd in the heat and 2nd in the main with the track cooling and comming to us for the main.

June 12th
We found the problem with the car being loose the sway bay had come loose and I missed it the prior race. A differance of night and day. Lap times dropped .5 second
We qualified with a fast time of 15.346
I started in the back for the trophy dash and worked through traffic to pick up the dash win. The best the car has handeled in a long time.
In the back again for the heat and I took the lead going into turn 3 by going 3 wide and never looking back. The Finishing order for the heat was Michael Millard Perales ,Aj Buttler, Mike Crawford, Brad Crawford. The Heat race was almost like the dash but I took the lead by passing on the out side The fish of the 8 lap heat was Michael Millard Perales, Brad Crawford, Aj Buttler Mike Crawford.
The Main was shortened to 10 laps after Aj Buttler had engine problems (very bad oil leak) but it was enough laps to find my way to the front we finished ahead of Brad crawford and his Father Mike Crawford.

July 3rd

The day started out gray at the house with light showers but hopping it would clear by the time we made it to the track.  by noon the sun was mostly out and the car handeled great so after 15 laps of practice I waited for Qualifiying.  Qualified with fast time with a 15.45 and fast time.

The Heat I worked past Brad Crawford and Aj Buttler to take the lead  but Aj caught upto me and made contact going into turn 2 on the final lap with no caution the 36d driven by Brad Crawford took the lead and won his first heat race  I got  my car refired and finished second. the #6 driven by his father Mike Crawford lost the clutch and never made it out to qualify

Although it was a mostly sunny day the black cloud would remain for the rest of the race day.  I started in the back and worked thru traffic by lap10 and running up a 1/2 lap lead but comming to take the white flag the car sputtered and shut off.  I was passed for first by #24 Aj buttler on the back stretch and  for second  by the #36d Brad crawford comming the finish line.  We think the battery  didn't  make it thru the main.   The car refired after pushing it to the trailer.  (yes it had fuel)

  September 11

The last race of the season. I found a fuel leak at the filter before the fuel pump. This could vapor lock the fuel pump as the fuel level dropped. I hope I found the problem! once again every thing was going good  Michael had fast time till Lash Larew (the last car to run)  set fast time.  I was protecting my points lead so i was hanging back keeping clean till the last lap I passed the 36 car for 3rd in the heat. I was going to race hard in the main. I just need to start the main  to stay first in the points.   I jumped out to a nice lead  and held it for 14 laps  Aj Buttler took over the lead on lap15 I folled him for 3 laps and then made my move, as I pulled along side my car sputtered lossing power and shut down on lap 19. I watched the rest of the race from the infield.
I lost the race but won the championship!!
